Bladderwrack is a form of seaweed (Kelp) that is prized for its rich Iodine content. It has a long history of use in herbal medicine to help regulate metabolism and as is often used in slimming products; including body wraps, face creams and serums.
Iodine is often used on the skin to help boost healing and also for its anti-microbial properties. These features make Bladderwrack suitable for products targeting problem skin.
The extract has a moisturising affect on the skin thanks to its ability to bind water.
Herbal Strength: This is based on a 4:1 extract (4 times stronger than the fresh plant material) extracted into a glycerin base at approx. 1% concentration.
