Pentavitin creates a moisture barrier on the skin after application and binds deep within the layers of skin, holding on tight for up to 72 hours. It helps maintain the skin's natural moisture barrier while smoothing and plumping skin over time.
Studies found that 1% Pentavitin reduces the signs of dry skin by 20% after 4 weeks, reducing trans epidermal water loss and improving skin hydration. In wash-off products such as shampoo and liquid soap, Pentavitin's barrier strengthening effects were able to reduce irritation by up to 17%.

Pentavitin has been found to rebalance the microbiome, improve the quality of the skins barrier function and as a consequence reduce inflammation. This is helpful across the whole body but can be particularly useful on the scalp.
Studies have also found that 3% Pentavitin in leave on formulas provides 72 hours of skin hydration and as little as 0.3% was found to improve skin barrier functionality.
A consumer panel test showed that after 2 weeks, 1% Pentavitin reduced flakiness and itching caused by dry skin by more than 50%. It also improved the look and feel of the skin, boosting softness. Further trials found that 0.2% of Pentavitin reduced irritation by 12% after 2 hours and 17% after 24 hours. In both cases it out-performed Bisabolol.
