Ingredients: Retinyl Palmitate, DL-alpha-Tocopherol
Also called "The Normaliser", Vitamin A Palmitate has attracted great interest in recent years as it is the active agent for treatment of aging skin in beauty care.
Vitamin A is important for normal vision, the immune system, reproduction, and growth and development. Vitamin A also helps your heart, lungs, and other organs work properly. Carotenoids are pigments that give yellow, orange, and red fruits and vegetables their colour.
Vitamin A promotes the enzyme activity in the skin. It thickens the epidermis and can regenerate skin prematurely aged by UV-radiation. This product can also assist in increasing the skin's elasticity and the reversal of photodamage.
Vitamin A is widely used in products such as moisturisers, lotions, body butters, shampoos, conditioners, gels and scrubs. It is particularly good for anti-aging formulations.
Retinol equivalence: Retinyl Palmitate is approx. 55% active retinol and 45% palmitic acid.
Origin: Vitamin A Palmitate is classified as a synthetic vitamin as it goes through several steps of synthesis that use a mixture of both naturally derived (vegetable) and chemically synthesised materials. None of the ingredients are animal derived.
Application: Add to the oil phase of your formulation.
Vitamin A solidifies at temperatures less than room temperature. It's usable liquid form is achieved by heating it to 30 degrees Celsius.
